Swimwear Trims — Hardware & Rings Tested in Chlorine and Salt Water

Swimwear trims spend their life in the two most corrosive environments a garment meets: chlorinated pool water and salt water, plus the sunscreen on top. We supply rings, sliders, snaps and hardware for swimwear, tested in those conditions — because a trim that rusts in week three is a return with photos.

The failure that costs money

Pool water finds the plating fault in three weeks. Every time.

Chlorine attacks the pores in cheap plating. The ring or slider looks fine on the rack, survives the pool party, and by mid-season shows rust bloom around the edges — exactly where the strap bends. The swimsuit itself is untouched, which makes the hardware failure look even worse.

Colour trims have the mirror problem: dye migration in chlorine and UV. A printed or coated ring that is coral in June is blush by August. The buyer sees a different product than the one ordered — and the refund is the cheap part.

Snaps on swim bottoms and cover-ups work wet, against skin, after sunscreen. A snap that holds on dry fabric can release wet, and a cap that stains the fabric turns a functional part into a damage claim.

Before bulk, not after claims

How we lock it down before bulk

Hardware for swimwear runs our 48-hour salt-spray test and a chlorinated water exposure test before bulk. If a finish will bloom, we find it in our workshop with the batch number on the report — not on a customer in July.

Colour trims are tested for chlorine and UV exposure and the colour is measured, not eyeballed: Delta E recorded per batch, retained sample on file. The coral you approve is the coral that ships.

Snaps are pull tested wet and dry on your fabric. Production team has 28 years in trims and 11 in-house testing machines; swimwear is a small category with a short season, which is exactly why the testing has to happen before the season starts.

Buyer questions

Swimwear — FAQ

Will the hardware rust in pool water?
Every hardware batch runs a 48-hour salt-spray test plus chlorinated water exposure before bulk. If it blooms, it fails here, with the batch number on the report.
Do colour trims stay the same colour after a season?
They are chlorine and UV tested with the colour measured — Delta E recorded per batch and a retained sample kept on file.
What hardware material do you recommend for swimwear?
No-rust bases with heavier plating for pool use; for salt water we specify accordingly. The exposure decides the material, not the colour card.
Can snaps hold on swim fabric when wet?
Snaps are pull tested wet and dry on your fabric, and caps are selected so they do not stain the garment.

Swimwear trims, tested in the water they will meet

Send the swim line and where it will be worn — pool, sea, or both. You get hardware that has already been through it, tested and recorded.
