What goes wrong
Three failures we test for before bulk
- Yellow cast in bulk lots. Lower-grade white shell drifts cream or yellow — next to a white shirt it reads as old stock on the shelf.
- Nacre too thin on small sizes. Small blanks cut from the shell rim flake at the edge after washing and the button loses its luster.
- Tone mismatch across a size run. The 16L and the 20L come from different shell areas and the size run does not match under store lighting.
Each of these is a claim on your P&L, not a technical detail. We test the condition your care label specifies and put the result in writing before production starts.
