Metal Buttons

Brass and alloy metal buttons — shank, rivet and sew-through — with plating tested to the wash condition of the garment, not just to the showroom photo.

What goes wrong

Three failures we test for before bulk

  • Plating dulls or rusts after washing. A corroded snap or shank reads as a garment defect — the claim lands on you, not on the trim supplier.
  • Jeans buttons fail the pull test. An under-crimped rivet comes off in wear; brands test pull strength per batch and a failed lot stops the shipment.
  • Nickel release above the EU limit. Plating that passes on the sample but not on the bulk gets caught at the brand's lab — EN 1811 reports must cover the actual shipment.

Each of these is a claim on your P&L, not a technical detail. We test the condition your care label specifies and put the result in writing before production starts.

Buyer questions

Metal buttons — FAQ

Will the plating survive industrial washing?
We test the actual plating batch to your care condition — salt spray and wash cycles — and report the result before bulk, so the finish is proven, not assumed.
Can jeans buttons work with our automatic attaching machine?
Yes. We confirm shank length, rivet type and attachment pressure against your machine model, and send attaching samples before bulk.
Is the plating nickel-free for the EU market?
Yes. We state nickel-release compliance in writing and provide EN 1811 test reports with the shipment for your compliance file.
Can you match a plating colour we already use?
Send a physical reference or a photo. We plate a sample against it and you approve the finish before bulk — approved samples stay on file for repeat orders.
